CELEBRATING COMMUNITY

A more recent story of celebration during a difficult time is that of Bulungula Lodge. With the recent outbreak of Covid-19, villagers became concerned for their elderly. That was when community-run Bulungula Lodge opened its doors to the elderly and vulnerable in the surrounding towns to ensure their safety during the quarantine. In the fear and uncertainty of the quarantine, the elderly are able to not only be safe but also enjoy each other’s company. More than just a safe house, in recent weeks Bulungula Lodge has afforded these old people time to enjoy the company of their peers they are very seldom able to spend time with.
