CELEBRATING DANCE

Pantsula is a fast-paced, dance style that originated in townships during apartheid in the 1960s and has continued to grow. Its expressive and energetic style began in a dance battle setting but over time became a way to raise awareness about political and social issues. Combining elements fromJive, Gumboot dancing and tribal dance, this style brings communities together, to dance, make music and celebrate life despite diffcult circumstances.
